The 2023 Cambridge Festival will feature two days of exciting and FREE talks for local school students (KS2 and KS3) at the Babbage Lecture Theatre in central Cambridge.
Schools can book for one, two or all three sessions!
Thinking Mathematically 10am – 11am
Charlie Gilderdale and Liz Woodham from the NRICH team will invite students to work together on some of their favourite mathematical problems.
Students will have an opportunity to explore, explain and generalise, and discover that everyone can enjoy thinking mathematically!
Hidden Stories in Museums 11:30am – 12:30pm
Join Shereese Peters-Valton from the University of Cambridge Museums to uncover the hidden stories and memories of museums that help us to understand how the world became what it is today.
How Does Stuff Get Made and Delivered to You? 1pm – 2pm
This session will take pupils on a journey to show how stuff we need each day is designed, made and shipped to us. We will explain how all this works, why we ended up running out of things during Covid, and show how cool new tech is helping make sure this doesn’t happen again.
The session will be structured around two 20-min slots with a short activity in the middle.
