What’s your biological age?

4:00pm-5:00pm on Saturday 21 March

Times shown are in GMT (UTC +0) up to the 26th March. For events on or after 27th March times are in BST (UTC +1).

Anglia Ruskin University, East Road, CB1 1PT

How old are you – really? While chronological age is simply the number of years since birth, biological age reflects the true condition of our bodies and minds, shaped by lifestyle, genetics and environment. Yet, in society and under the law, chronological age is often used as a marker for rights, responsibilities and access to services.

This interactive workshop explores the legal implications of ageing and the challenges posed by age-based classifications. We will examine how current legal frameworks may reinforce ageism – discrimination based on age – and whether they adequately reflect the diverse realities of ageing.

Dr Helga Hejny [https://www.aru.ac.uk/people/helga-hejny] is a Senior Lecturer in Law at Anglia Ruskin University, specialising in discrimination and the environment.
