Together We Thrive: Communities, research, and resilience in times of instability

6:00pm-7:30pm on Wednesday 1 April

Times shown are in GMT (UTC +0) up to the 26th March. For events on or after 27th March times are in BST (UTC +1).

Cambridge Union Society, Library, 9A Bridge Street, CB2 1UB

Join Nicky Shepard (CEO, Abbey People) and Niamh Mulcahy (Assistant Research Professor, Centre for the Study of Financial Insecurity at the University of Cambridge) to learn about the value of community-led research. Working with the residents of Abbey Ward, Cambridge, Abbey People and the CSFI are looking at financial insecurity in Cambridge through the stories of people who experience it. By training community members as community researchers, we're working to ensure first-hand experience shapes research that could inform policy targeting insecurity and poverty. More than that, community research captures a resilience that can show us how people thrive.
