SunSpaceArt activities (sunspaceart.org) provide an imaginative way to learn about the Sun, Solar System and space travel, to create inspirational artwork, and to meet scientists and artists. Prof Helen Mason OBE is a solar scientist at DAMTP, the University of Cambridge. She has worked for many years on NASA and ESA solar space observations, most recently on Solar Orbiter. She has worked extensively with school children throughout and leads the SunSpaceArt project, funded by STFC (Science and Technology Facilities Council). In 2024, she won the Ogden Trust Award for Sustained Contribution to Physics Outreach. The age range targeted is ideally 5-11 years old. As a ‘drop in’ event, the capacity will be determined by the space available (two large tables + 16 chairs). The time children stay doing the activities (usually around 20-30 mins). All art resources will be provided. These activities should be under cover (indoors). Prof Helen Mason Twitter: @helen_hm11 #SunSpaceArt
