This exhibition, “Seasons of Freedom”, will capture the experiences of people returning to Britain following a period of imprisonment abroad. Arising out of research between the University of Cambridge and the charity Prisoners Abroad, it will comprise of interactive artworks - including poetry, spoken word, soft installations, textiles and a zine - created by people with lived experience of imprisonment overseas: in the US, Asia, Australia, Europe and elsewhere. These artworks will capture memorable moments in their lives since their deportation back to the UK and experiences that have shaped their journeys of pain, alienation, reflection and hope.
