Poíesis: An evening with Tom de Freston and Kiran Millwood Hargrave

6:00pm-7:30pm on Thursday 2 April

Times shown are in GMT (UTC +0) up to the 26th March. For events on or after 27th March times are in BST (UTC +1).

Museum of Classical Archaeology, Sidgwick Avenue, CB3 9DA

Join us for a very special evening with artist Tom de Freston and his wife, novelist Kiran Millwood Hargrave. Explore Tom’s solo show Poíesis with a glass of wine in the Museum of Classical Archaeology’s Cast Gallery, followed by a conversation chaired by the Museum’s Director, Professor Carrie Vout.

Previously exhibited at the Varvara Roza Gallery in Mayfair, de Freston’s large-scale paintings engage with the couple’s experience of creative collaboration, pregnancy and loss. This is a rare chance to hear about the paintings’ creation from both their artist and subject, and an opportunity to consider the ways that we might revise the traditional narratives around artist and muse.
