What is ‘nature connection’? Why is it important and how can it be nurtured? Join this interactive session by Dr Davide Pettinato to start exploring how the Islamic tradition addresses these questions. Before being introduced to key concepts and practices underpinning the Muslim perspective on this fundamental part of human life, you will be invited to participate in activities carefully designed to set you on (or refresh) your journey to nature connection – so, come prepared to share your thoughts!
Dr Davide Pettinato is an interdisciplinary scholar working at the intersection between the anthropology of Islam, Islamic studies, and environmental social sciences. He is a Research & Outreach Associate at the Centre of Islamic Studies (University of Cambridge) and he leads the “Green(ing) Muslim Programme”, an environmental educational initiative run in collaboration with the Cambridge Central Mosque.
