A LIFETIME IN ADVENTURE

2:45pm-3:45pm on Saturday 9 April

Times shown are in GMT (UTC +0) up to the 26th March. For events on or after 27th March times are in BST (UTC +1).

Anglia Ruskin University, East Road, CB1 1PT

Talk with Chris Howard (Anglia Ruskin University graduate in European philosophy and literature) about his amazing adventures walking across remote parts of India with a backpack, to the foothills of the Himalayas and through some incredibly dangerous parts of a vast and volatile country.

Chris has visited an array of countries and travels via many means, including walking, cycling, running and climbing, as well as using more expeditious modes of transport such as boats, motorcycles and lightweight helicopters. He has run marathons, cycled long distance across Europe and eventually, having never rowed a boat, decided to row the Atlantic in the worlds’ toughest endurance event.

His latest challenge is to walk around the entire coastline of Britain, 11,000 miles, carrying everything he needs to survive. He walks a marathon or more each day to tick off the miles, and hopes to be the unofficial fastest man around Britain, all whilst raising money for Children in Need.

Chris lives in Cambridge with his family. When not on an adventure he enjoys rowing and coaching athletes. He is an ambassador for various bodies including the Institute of Outdoor Learning
