Create your own binary bracelet: A computer science drop-in activity

10:30am-4:00pm on Saturday 21 March

Times shown are in GMT (UTC +0) up to the 26th March. For events on or after 27th March times are in BST (UTC +1).

Computer Laboratory, William Gates Building 15 JJ Thomson Avenue, CB3 0FD

Would you like to make a bead bracelet, necklace or keyring that spells out your name or initials in binary? This is a great way to learn about binary, the language of computers. Choose your two favourite colours of beads to act as zeros and ones, and use them to spell out your name or initials in binary. “I enjoyed making the binary bracelet because I loved how it was like wearing a secret code,” said one student who tried it last year.

This drop-in, hands-on activity will be on offer at the Department of Computer Science and Technology Open Day. Come along to the Department between 10:30am and 4pm to have a go!
