10:00am-4:00pm on Saturday 21 March
Department of Chemistry, Lensfield Road, CB2 1EW
Get to grips with exciting, fascinating and just plain weird science that shows you how the world around us works. On Saturday 21 March in the Chemistry Department, enthusiastic students from CHaOS will show you what goes on in our experiments, looking at lots of science that goes ‘crash,’ ‘bang’ and ‘squelch’!
Come along to see lots of exciting hands-on experiments from all areas of science! The hands-on event is open from 10am to 4pm, and is absolutely free. We’ll have around 50 different experiments, each of which will be demonstrated by a friendly student volunteer! Timed tickets will be available online in advance for priority entry, but you can still come along for drop-in entry throughout the day. Children and parents need separate tickets. Please arrive at the time specified on your tickets, but stay for as long as you want!
To add to the fun, a series of talks will be given in the lecture theatre – expect some high-powered experiments that can’t be done in the hands-on lab! To get tickets, visit: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/chaos-talks-at-crash-bang-squelch-2026-ti...
CHaOS will also be running several workshops on robotics, with lots of hands-on design and programming. Absolutely no experience is required, as we’ll teach you all the basics so that you can start making our robots do all sorts of amazing things in no time at all. Please note: photographs will be taken throughout the day at the event, and may be put on social media and our website. If you or your child do not wish to be photographed, please inform a steward upon arrival to the event.
