American English: Dialogues in dialect

How does our speech shape us? This talk by Molly Becker will look at how dialect influences and reflects identity, and at how American authors use dialect in their writing. 

This event will feature a 30-minute talk aimed at adults, with an additional 15-minute introduction to dialect for children that comes with a downloadable activity pack. 

The talk will be on demand, further information on how to access it will be available at www.english.cam.ac.uk from the 22 February.
